Role and Responsibilities

The Digital Health Specialist will play a crucial role in accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by leveraging digital technologies and improved data capacity. They will work towards strengthening community health systems, improving the quality of primary healthcare, and addressing inequities in health outcomes.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of digital health systems and strategies
  • Ensuring the interoperability of digital systems and the integration of data into health management information systems
  • Facilitating the use of digital innovations at the community and primary health facility level
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to address system problems and meet the needs of the Ministry of Health

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate for this position should have:

  • A master’s degree in public health, health informatics, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in digital health or health informatics
  • Experience working with digital health systems in low-resource settings
  • Strong knowledge of health systems strengthening and primary healthcare
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
