The deadline for applications is Sunday, 14th of April 2024. This position is globally remote, reporting to the Executive Director. The Director Development and Communications will manage a team of 4 and external consultants. The annual salary for this position is $120k – $150k USD, and the salary will be offered based on experience and location, adjusted according to the cost of labor in the candidate’s country of residence. Candidates must have the right to work in the country they are applying from. This is a permanent, full-time position at a senior executive level.

Women’s Link Worldwide (WLW) is an organization rooted in the principles of intersectional feminism, anti-racism, anti-colonialism, and global south leadership. With a network of over 60 national partners and 40 regional and global coalitions, WLW aims to dismantle oppressive systems and rebalance power dynamics. Their approach focuses on transforming the feminist strategic litigation landscape, breaking down legal barriers, and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities within the legal sphere. WLW’s core focus areas include gender and reproductive justice, advocating for safe and dignified access to abortion and combating gender-based violence. They also integrate climate and racial justice perspectives into their advocacy efforts.

Purpose of Role

The Director of Development and Communications plays a vital leadership role in steering the organization’s direction. This role requires a unique blend of strategic communication skills and advanced fundraising expertise. With a $3 million budget primarily sourced from progressive foundations and a modest individual donor program, the Director of Development and Communications oversees a multifaceted communications and fundraising strategy to enhance the organization’s visibility and narrative across diverse audiences. They will lead a team, navigating challenges and opportunities while shaping the organization’s future revenue landscape. The ideal candidate will implement and oversee communications plans that advance WLW’s objectives and ensure effective delivery of its goals. They will also play a pivotal role in managing existing foundation relationships and leveraging a substantial one-time windfall gift to expand WLW’s impact across multiple regions.
