Grantwriter at SAN – Sustainable Agriculture Network – Apply by 7 December 2024 – Remote Position
Devex Talent Solutions is assisting the SAN – Sustainable Agriculture Network in their search for a Grantwriter (6 Months Maternity Cover) under the Institutional Relations Department. This is a remote role based in either Europe, the UK or North America.

General Objective
SAN’s business development team is integral to realizing the organization’s ambitious strategy for 2025-30. As a Grantwriter you will craft compelling proposals for institutional donors and grant making foundations that drive integrated solutions which balance social, environmental and economic benefits for project beneficiaries. You will provide technical expertise throughout the proposal lifecycle, providing guidance to the design and delivery of competitive proposals and take responsibility for the proposal design, development and submission process.
Collaboration and partnership are central to SAN’s ethos and working environment. This role reports to the Senior Manager for Institutional Relations and holds responsibility for coordinating efforts across the organization, particularly with the Technical Unit and SAN’s network members.
This is a 6-month maternity cover position with the possibility of extension. It is a remote role, based in either Europe, the UK or North America.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Senior Manager of Institutional Relations to build and manage the pipeline of new opportunities to achieve annual targets and long-term growth. This will involve the following:
Research, analyze, and plan for new grant funding opportunities (principally with bilaterals and foundations), competitive intelligence, and SAN’s competitive positioning on a continuous basis within the marketplace in collaboration with the technical team.
Identify short and longer-term opportunities for SAN’s innovative solutions through prospect research.
Work with SAN’s technical unit and partners to conceptualize and design sound technical approaches for new funding opportunities.
Lead the proposal development process on select opportunities, including forming and managing proposal teams, as well as ensuring compliance with SAN and donor requirements.
Develop institutional relations with potential programmatic partners and coordinate teaming agreements, MOUs, and other institutional agreements with partners.
Participate in cross-divisional program/project planning, implementation and proposal development.

Qualifcations
Degree level qualification in relevant area, eg. International Relations, International Development, Economics, or a related field, and/or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
Minimum five (5) years professional experience securing five and six figure funds through writing high-quality proposals for a variety of global foundations and institutional or bilateral donors.
Experience working in sustainable agriculture, international development, conservation or related fields preferred.
Thorough knowledge of proposal design and development processes, including developing log frames theory of change, gaant charts and budgets.
Strong analytic, strategic thinking and planning skills. Ability to transition ideas into project proposals and programming.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to gather, analyze and synthesize information, and write clear, structured, articulate, persuasive content for project proposals, reports and other communication materials.
Confident use of Microsoft Office and other Windows applications. Experience with Salesforce is desirable.
