Charity Appeals on BBC Radio 4 and BBC One Lifeline
Charity Appeals – The BBC offers charities the opportunity to have their appeals broadcast on BBC Radio 4 or BBC One Lifeline, reaching audiences across the UK. These appeals showcase the diverse range of work that charities undertake to benefit people and the planet, both domestically and internationally.
The BBC’s objective is to support a wide range of UK charities in raising vital funds and increasing awareness of their initiatives. To determine if your charity is eligible to apply for a BBC Radio 4 or BBC One Lifeline appeal, certain criteria must be met:
- Your charity must be registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), or the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland.
- If your charity operates within the UK, its work must benefit more than one of the following: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Preference is given to charities with a UK-wide scope and significance.
- If your charity’s work is international, you must demonstrate a national impact across one or more low or middle-income countries.
- At least three years must have passed since your charity’s last broadcast of a Radio 4 or Lifeline appeal.
- At least one year must have passed since any unsuccessful application for a Radio 4 or Lifeline appeal.
