Understanding the Notification of Interest for NWN 2025 Grant Applications

Introduction to the NWN Grant Application Process

The Next World Now (NWN) 2025 grant cycle has been designed to streamline the application process for community organizations looking to secure funding. The first step for interested organizations is to submit a brief Notification of Interest (NOI). This one-page document serves as a registration of intent to apply for the formal grant application, simplifying the process for both applicants and NWN.

Key Dates and Phases

The grant application period opens on January 1 and closes on March 1. During this time, organizations must complete their NOI to express their willingness to pursue the grant. After the application period closes, NWN will review the NOIs and notify selected organizations by April 1 or later. Those chosen will move into Phase 2, where a full application will be required.

Grant Disbursement and Reporting

Upon approval, the disbursement of grant funds occurs in three intervals: the first is 50% upon the announcement of awards, followed by 35% based on completion of project milestones, and the final 15% contingent on a comprehensive 12-month project report. This structured approach ensures that funds are released only when recipients demonstrate adequate progress in their projects.
