Call for Applications – Women Researchers Fellowship, Cross-Border Conflict

Call for Applications – Women Researchers Fellowship, Cross-Border Conflict: Evidence, Policy, and Trends (XCEPT) Program: The Asia Foundation, in collaboration with its partners in the Cross-Border Conflict: Evidence, Policy, and Trends (XCEPT) program, is inviting applications for the Women Researchers Fellowship. This fellowship aims to support and empower women researchers from Asia, the Middle East, and Africa to undertake independent research projects and enhance their professional skills and networks.

Since 2018, the XCEPT program has been working with local partners to gain a deeper understanding of political, economic, and social dynamics in conflict-affected borderlands across regions such as Myanmar, Syria, and South Sudan. Over 50 researchers from these areas have collectively produced and published more than 220 pieces of original work, contributing to discussions on various development issues, including trade, migration, governance, and climate change.

This Researchers Fellowship is a yearlong program that provides selected fellows with a research grant and professional support. Fellows will have the opportunity to conduct original research and publish their work, which is crucial for building a professional profile. Additionally, participants will engage in joint skills-building and networking activities, peer learning, and receive individual mentoring from experienced researchers within the XCEPT program.

As part of the fellowship, fellows will also have the chance to attend in-person workshops and conferences, where they can present their work to key policy audiences and development practitioners. This exposure will enable them to contribute to relevant discussions and establish valuable connections within their field.
