Introduction

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is pleased to announce the 2024 call for proposals under the DAPC Grants Programme. This initiative aims to fund not-for-profit organizations working on evidence-based substance use prevention projects targeting youth. Eligible applicants can receive grants ranging from USD 10,000 to USD 17,000.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

To be considered, applicants must be registered not-for-profit organizations with at least five years of experience in substance use prevention, youth empowerment, and peer-to-peer education. Projects should be developmentally appropriate for youth under the age of 18 and actively involve youth in their communities. Importantly, the proposed activities should be backed by scientific evidence as outlined in the UNODC/WHO International Standards on Drug Use Prevention.

Application Process

The application process adopts a phased approach. Initially, interested applicants are required to submit a concept note, which will be reviewed by UNODC. Selected applicants will then be invited to submit full project proposals. Concept notes must be submitted through the designated platform by August 14, 2024, 23:59 Central European Summer Time (UTC +2). Shortlisted applicants will receive further instructions, including necessary forms, and must register at the UN Partner Portal.

Obligations of Grant Recipients

Successful organizations will be required to sign a formal agreement with UNODC, and to regularly submit narrative and financial reports. Grantees must maintain documentation on project progress and expenditures for three years post-completion. This information will contribute to reports submitted by UNODC to the Drug Abuse Prevention Center (DAPC).
