DANIDA Call for Applications 2024 – Phase 1 Deadline 7th February 2024
Universities and research institutions in Denmark have the opportunity to apply for funds for research through the DANIDA Call for Applications 2024. This annual call focuses on themes outlined in Denmark’s Strategy for Development Cooperation, known as “The World We Share.” The call aims to support projects that align with these thematic areas. For detailed information on the specific themes and eligible countries, interested parties are encouraged to refer to the Call for Applications 2024. The granted projects can have a duration of up to five years and receive funding of up to 10 million DKK. The Call for Applications follows a two-phased process. In Phase 1, applicants will undergo prequalification. Those who qualify will then be invited to submit a full project proposal in Phase 2. The projects selected for funding will have the opportunity to commence in April 2025. Diversity is a key value for the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They are committed to promoting equal opportunities and diversity in all aspects. Therefore, individuals from diverse backgrounds, including different ethnicities, religions, gender identities, ages, and disability statuses, are encouraged to submit research applications. In the previous application round in 2022, a total of 114 applications were received in Phase 1. Out of these, 21 applications were submitted by prospective female project coordinators, while 93 were submitted by male project coordinators. Ultimately, 21 applications were selected for granting in Phase 2, with 7 having a female project lead and 14 having a male project lead. Notably, three applications for research in Ethiopia from the 2021 application round were also included in the selected projects. The eligible countries for the DANIDA Call for Applications 2024 include Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, and Palestine/West Bank.
