What is the Fair Water Action Fund?
The Fair Water Action Fund, established by Water Witness, provides essential grants ranging from £3,000 to £36,000 GBP. This funding is directed towards organizations in the Global South that are dedicated to achieving water justice. Our goal is to promote accountability, amplify the voices of citizens, and support research and investigative journalism on critical water issues.
Who Can Apply?
This fund is open to civil society groups, media, and research bodies. We prioritize applications from African countries dealing with physical and economic water scarcity, as well as initiatives focused on improving water governance. We are particularly interested in projects addressing the water impacts of multinational corporations and ensuring shared water security at different scales.
What Support is Available?
Aside from targeted grants, the Fair Water Action Fund offers reliable and high-quality support. This includes technical guidance, strategic advice, and organizational capacity development. Additionally, we encourage applicants to watch our video that outlines the application process, including eligibility criteria and deadlines. The aim is to foster improved water security for both communities and ecosystems while addressing the interrelated challenges of climate change and social inequality.
If you’re passionate about driving systemic change and enhancing access to safe water, we invite you to apply. For more information, please contact us at actionfund@waterwitness.org.
