Are you a woman scholar in engineering, medicine, or the physical or biological sciences? Are you looking for funding to support your research projects and scholarly publications? Look no further! We are excited to announce our annual grants program, designed specifically to help women overcome the barriers they face in these fields.
With funding ranging from $10,000 to $35,000, our grants are open to women scholars conducting basic research in engineering, medicine, or the physical or biological sciences. To be eligible, applicants must hold a doctorate degree in one of these fields and plan to publish their research in a scholarly publication, where they will be listed as a primary author.
The application period opens on August 1, 2023, and the deadline for submission is November 15, 2023. We understand the importance of time, so we have made the process simple and convenient with online submission of applications, recommendations, and supporting documents.
Once the grant recipients are selected, they will be notified of the decision by April 15, 2024. The grant year will run from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. Please note that the final 10% of the funds will be paid upon acceptance of the research to a scholarly publication within six months of the end of the grant year.
Eligibility for these grants is limited to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are conducting basic research in eligible institutions. We follow the guidance provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institute of Health (NIH) in determining what qualifies as basic research.
Whether you are a tenure track, part-time, or temporary faculty member, or a new or established researcher at a university, we encourage you to apply for these grants. Please note that previous recipients of any AAUW national fellowship or grant, as well as members of AAUW Board of Directors, committees, panels, task forces, and staff, are not eligible to apply.
Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to receive funding for your research and advance your career in engineering, medicine, or the physical or biological sciences. Apply now and take a step closer to achieving your scholarly goals!
