Supporting Compassionate Healing: The Ronald W.Naito MD Foundation

Posted on April 8, 2024April 8, 2024 By admin No Comments on Supporting Compassionate Healing: The Ronald W.Naito MD Foundation

Ronald W.Naito MD Foundation is dedicated to continuing the legacy of Dr. Ron Naito by supporting nonprofit organizations that are making a positive impact on our communities and the planet. Our focus is on strengthening, protecting, and transforming these areas through our funding initiatives.

Grant Overview

The Ronald W.Naito MD Foundation supports initiatives in the categories of climate, health equity, sustainable communities, as well as arts and education organizations based in Oregon. We offer unrestricted grants, typically ranging from $5,000 to $40,000, with occasional funding for smaller and larger requests. We are also moving towards more multi-year grants to provide sustained support.

We recognize the importance of both frontline services and systemic solutions, and aim to strike a balance between supporting organizations that provide immediate assistance and those working towards long-term change. Our application and reporting forms are designed to be straightforward, ensuring that our nonprofit partners can focus on their mission without unnecessary administrative burdens.

What Ronald W.Naito MD Foundation Don’t Fund

While we have a clear mission and funding priorities, there are certain areas that we do not currently fund. These include next generation climate leadership, regenerative agriculture or ranching, reforestation, clean/green technology research and development, cap and trade initiatives, and species and habitat conservation. It’s important to note that this is not because we don’t value these areas, but rather because we are still learning about them, our grant sizes may not be effective within these fields, or we are seeking more aggressive, near-term interventions.

Partnership and Contact

At the Ronald W.Naito MD Foundation we value partnership and open communication. We encourage organizations to reach out to us with ideas, questions, suggestions, and opportunities. We believe in the power of collaboration and are always eager to explore potential partnerships. We also extend our gratitude to all organizations working towards positive change, even if they are not eligible for our funding.

Before applying, we recommend reviewing our funding trends, grant eligibility, and the pages dedicated to our funding priorities. We look forward to the opportunity to meet with you and express our appreciation for the important work you do.
