Thrive Seed Grant: Funding Opportunities for Just, Vegan Food Systems

Deadline 1 June,1 September, 1 December 2024 -The Thrive Seed Grant offers funding opportunities of up to $5000 USD for organizations and individuals working towards creating just, vegan food systems. While the grant aims to support many proposals, it is important to note that grants are limited, and not all applicants will be awarded.

The Thrive Seed Grant is specifically geared towards new or small-scale organizations, participants of the Africa Accelerator program, one-time small-scale projects, or individuals without nonprofit status. However, please note that at this time, USA organizations or international chapters of USA organizations are currently not eligible to apply.

To be eligible for the grant, proposals must align with Thrive Philanthropy’s safe space policy and focus on reducing the global consumption of animals, reducing industrial animal agriculture, or vegan advocacy. Additionally, Thrive Philanthropy prioritizes organizations with a budget less than $500,000 USD.

Equity is at the forefront of Thrive Philanthropy’s giving, and proposals led by women, people of colour, and other marginalized persons are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must consistently demonstrate a positive reputation with their stakeholders and community, as well as contribute to Thrive Philanthropy’s positive reputation.

It is important to note that the Thrive Seed Grant does not fund cellular agriculture work, projects or organizations that benefit or support the exploitation of animals, for-profit companies (including restaurants and other businesses), food banks or giveaways, animal farming or other animal use, political parties or candidate endorsements, tuition or student research, or work within the United States or international chapters of USA organizations.

To apply for the Thrive Seed Grant, interested parties can submit their proposals through the online application. The deadlines for submissions are as follows: 1 March, 1 June, 1 September, and 1 December. It takes up to 8 weeks from the deadline for a response.
