Unlocking Climate Solutions: UNICEF’s Climate Innovation Challenge Fund

Introduction to UNICEF’s Climate Innovation Challenge Fund

UNICEF is excited to announce the launch of the Climate Innovation Challenge Fund, a vital initiative aimed at fostering innovative solutions for children’s welfare in emerging markets. In collaboration with the India Health Fund (IHF) and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), this challenge is a transformative opportunity for early-stage frontier tech ventures to contribute to climate adaptation efforts.

A Dual Track Approach for Impactful Solutions

The approach of the challenge is unique and strategic, focusing on two main paths. First, it seeks to conduct a market mapping of child-centric climate innovators who are actively working in emerging markets. Secondly, UNICEF will offer capacity-building support to selected start-ups through expert mentorship and technical assistance from the UNICEF Venture Fund. By enhancing the investment readiness of these ventures, UNICEF aims to amplify their potential for future funding.

Key Benefits for Participants

Selected start-ups will receive valuable support, including ten hours of technical mentoring. This will cover essential areas such as business development, frontier technology, software development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Additionally, participants will gain insights into the UNICEF Venture Fund sourcing and selection process, which can significantly enhance their chances of success. The Fund is particularly focused on solutions that are optimized for low-resource environments and aim to reduce inequalities across various communities.

Innovators interested in participating should apply by October 21, 2025. For comprehensive criteria and further information, please visit the official UNICEF Venture Fund website.
