Call for Proposals: Funding for Tunisian Civil Society Organizations
The Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP) is inviting Tunisian civil society organizations (CSOs) to submit project proposals for funding. The GEF SGP is a financial mechanism that aims to find local solutions to global environmental problems. It provides technical and financial support to CSOs, including NGOs, development associations, and community-based organizations, for the implementation of community projects that contribute to the sustainable management of natural resources and environmental protection.
Program Objectives
The GEF SGP supports initiatives that address the following environmental challenges:
- Conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity
- Climate change mitigation and adaptation
- Protection of international waters
- Sustainable forest management
- Combatting land degradation
- Reduction of persistent organic pollutants and chemicals
Eligibility and Application Process
Tunisian associations and community-based organizations (GDA/SMSA) that are legally registered in Tunisia are eligible to apply. The complete application package, including the project proposal form and call for proposals, can be downloaded from the UNDP Procurement Notices website.
Completed applications must be submitted in digital format via email to ezzeddine.ferchichi@undp.org with the subject line “TUN/SGP/OP7/CORE/1” no later than midnight (Tunis time) on May 14, 2024. Interested associations and community-based organizations must submit all required documents as described in the project proposal file “Appel à Projets PMF FEM-OP7-CORE-1” for their proposals to be considered.
Requests for clarifications should also be sent to ezzeddine.ferchichi@undp.org no later than April 23, 2024. Incomplete or late applications will be automatically rejected.
