Objectives and Eligible Recipients
The primary aim of CFLI is to bolster positive bilateral relations between Canada and recipient countries by developing connections and endorsing local enterprises. Many of the funds are strategically directed toward local civil society organizations, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other institutions at the grassroots level. Additionally, international organizations collaborating with local partners may also be eligible for funding, provided their projects align with CFLI objectives.
Application Process and Guidelines
Applicants must undergo a stringent application process. Proposals will be assessed by a selection committee based on merit, emphasizing the need for projects to focus on at least one thematic priority area, including democratic governance, human rights, peace and security, and gender equality. For the current funding cycle, the average contribution is $24,000 Canadian dollars, with the maximum allowable contribution at $30,000 Canadian dollars.
