Exploring the Thrive Grant for Sustainable Food Systems

What is the Thrive Grant?

The Thrive Grant is designed to support initiatives outside the USA that accelerate the development of alternative methods to industrial animal agriculture. With funding ranging from $10,000 to $30,000, this grant aims to foster innovative projects that create plant-rich food systems and increase access to nutritious plant-based foods.

Eligibility and Application Process

Intended for mid-size or larger organizations with a proven success record, the Thrive Grant is currently focused on funding applicants outside the USA. Grants are typically awarded to organizations that have received funding in the past, reinforcing the commitment to ongoing relationships with successful initiatives. The application deadlines are set for 1 March, 1 June, 1 September, and 1 December, and applicants can expect a response within eight weeks of each deadline. It’s essential to apply through the online application as emailed proposals will not be accepted.

Equity in Giving

Equity is paramount in the evaluation of proposals. The Thrive Grant encourages applications from organizations led by or employing marginalized individuals, including women and people of color. This approach ensures that the distribution of funding not only supports effective initiatives but also enhances social equity within the communities served.
