Hindustan Zinc CSR Initiatives 2026 – Programmes, Focus Areas and Community Impact

Introduction:Hindustan Zinc is implementing a range of community and CSR programmes across India with a focus on improving the quality of life and economic well-being of communities around its operations. Under the aegis of the Anil Agarwal Foundation, its initiatives cover education, health and water, sustainable livelihoods, women empowerment, sports, community infrastructure and other areas of social development.

During FY2025–26, Hindustan Zinc reported that its CSR programmes positively impacted around 2.6 million people, including 2.01 million women and children, with programmes reaching more than 4,100 villages. The company reported total CSR spending of ₹278.15 crore for the year.

Hindustan Zinc CSR Focus Areas

Education

Hindustan Zinc supports education programmes including Nand Ghars, school education initiatives and programmes designed to improve learning outcomes for children in communities around its operations.

Its Shiksha Sambal programme focuses on improving the learning environment in government schools, while Unchi Udaan supports talented students aspiring to enter leading engineering institutions.

Health, Water and Sanitation

Healthcare, drinking water and sanitation are important areas of Hindustan Zinc’s community programmes. Its initiatives seek to improve access to essential health services and safe water in rural communities.

The company reported more than 11.13 million litres of drinking water dispensed through its initiatives and continued community health interventions during FY2025–26.

Sustainable Livelihoods

Hindustan Zinc supports agriculture and livestock development, vocational and technical training, and livelihood opportunities for rural communities.

Its Zinc Kaushal programme provides market-linked vocational and technical training for young people, while other initiatives support agriculture, livestock and micro-enterprise development.

Women Empowerment

Women empowerment is another major focus. Programmes include financial inclusion, skills development and support for women-led micro-enterprises.

The Sakhi programme supports rural women through microfinance and capacity building, while Sakhi Production Centres form part of the company’s micro-enterprise approach.

Nand Ghar

Nand Ghar is one of Hindustan Zinc’s flagship programmes, focusing on women and children through a modernised Anganwadi model. The programme combines early childhood education, nutrition, healthcare and women’s empowerment.

Hindustan Zinc reported 4,679 Nand Ghars as part of its FY2025–26 social impact.
