Empowering Women and Girls through International Project Grants
At AAUW, we believe in the power of education to empower women and girls around the world. That’s why we offer International Project Grants to our International Fellowship alumnae who have returned home after completing their studies in the United States.
These grants provide financial support to alumnae, allowing them to implement community-based projects that will improve the lives of women and girls in their home countries. From securing property rights for widows to building safe hearths for cassava production, our alumnae have tackled women’s equity issues head-on.
To be eligible for an International Project Grant, applicants must have successfully completed an AAUW International Fellowship and the academic program for which they received funding. The project must be implemented in the applicant’s home country and have a direct, positive impact on women and girls.
The grant amount ranges from $3,000 to $10,000, providing the necessary resources for our alumnae to make a difference in their communities. The application period opens on August 1 every year and the deadline for submission is November 15. Notifications of decisions are emailed to applicants by April 15 of the following year.
AAUW is proud to support the incredible work of our International Fellowship alumnae through International Project Grants. Together, we can create lasting change and empower women and girls worldwide.
