Fixed Grant Support for Active Researchers in Mathematical Sciences, Theoretical Sciences & Quantitative Social Sciences
Scope
- Mathematical Sciences (MS): Mathematical and allied areas.
- Theoretical Sciences (TS): All areas of Science & Engineering (excluding mathematical sciences).
- Quantitative Social Sciences (QSS): Social sciences involving quantitative analysis using mathematical, statistical, or computational techniques.
Nature of Support
- Research grant: ₹5 lakh per annum + overheads for up to 5 years.
- Maximum of ₹5 lakh (total) may be used for international travel.
purpose of Grants
- Purchase of textbooks and monographs.
- Minor equipment (workstation, laptop, etc.).
- Research software.
- Travel support for conferences (national/international).
- Collaborative visits in India and abroad.
- Logistics for inviting students/young researchers for research activities.
Eligibility
- Active researchers in:
- Mathematical Sciences & allied areas
- Science & Engineering (excluding mathematical sciences)
- Quantitative Social Sciences using mathematical/statistical/computational techniques
- Applicants must belong to public/private universities, national research labs, or recognized research organizations in India.
- One proposal per call; Co‑PIs not allowed.
- OCI/PIO holders may apply (without Co‑PI requirement).
- No extension of project duration.
Mode of Application & Selection
- Call for applications notified via ANRF Online.
- Proposals must be submitted online only at www.anrfonline.in.
- Selection based on:
- Credentials of PI
- Publication record
- Mathematical/Theoretical content of proposal
Proposal Submission Requirements
Applicants must register at ANRF Online Portal and complete profile details (bio‑data, photo, institute address).

- List of 10 most significant publications
- List of all publications in last 5 years
- Certificate from PI (download template)
- Endorsement letter from Head of Institution (download template)
- Plagiarism undertaking (download template)
Proposal must include:
- Project Title (≤500 characters)
- Mathematics review subject classification (for MATRICS)
- Keywords (≤6)
