International Foundation Priority Program Categories
At the International Foundation, we believe in the power of collaboration and taking a holistic approach to benefit entire regions. While we do award grants to organizations focused on specific categories, we prioritize partners who are committed to delivering positive and sustained results through a community-based approach.
Agriculture
We support projects that promote agricultural sustainability in developing countries facing challenges such as population growth, climate change, poor technology, and policy and management issues. Our projects aim to assist smallholder farmers with crop management, storage, market information, training services via mobile phones, savings and loan programs, and resource acquisition.
Education
We believe in extending the reach of national education systems to remote and underserved areas. Our support includes programs for remedial education, access to technology resources, teacher training, and extracurricular projects. We also prioritize formal and informal education programs in information technology and vocational skills, with a focus on empowering women and girls in both rural and urban communities.
Environment
Our focus on the environment involves supporting projects that address air and water pollution, climate change, soil degradation, exploitation of natural resources, biodiversity loss, deforestation, desertification, and ocean acidification. We prioritize grants for projects that ensure water quality and access, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) initiatives, and the elimination of vector-borne diseases and exposure to toxic chemicals.
Health
We are committed to supporting community primary health programs, maternal and child healthcare, and general health education, including hygiene, family planning, and birth control. Additionally, we aim to extend the reach of healthcare to remote regions and underserved sectors of countries, while also working to strengthen national health systems.
International Foundation Eligibility Evaluation
All organizations seeking grants from the International Foundation must complete a brief online evaluation to determine their eligibility. If your organization meets the requirements outlined on our website, we invite you to participate in our streamlined process. Please note that our grant amounts do not exceed $50,000. The next round of Letter of Intent (LOI) submissions will be accepted from January 1, 2024.
Second Half-Year Schedule
- June 1 – June 30: LOI submission period
- June 30: LOI submission cutoff date*
- August 15: Committee review and approval of LOIs
- October 31: Application submission deadline
- November 15: Committee review of applications
- January 23: Applications approved at January Board of Directors meeting
*After this date, LOIs will not be accepted until the next submission period.
