Background: POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Specialist (HRS) is accountable for the development and implementation of human resources across the organization under the direction of the COO including recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, risk analysis and compliance related to HR. They support the ongoing development of HR strategy. They create and maintain strong human resource systems to both ensure ETF is aligned with its culture declaration and that the organisation continuously improves in effectiveness. They liaise with the Professional Employer Organisation(s) (PEO) and host organisation to ensure that staff, across regions and countries of work, are supported through their various employers of record, that standardization and equity is considered in all employment contracts and benefits, and that staff have a central trusted resource for all HR questions. The HRS maintains up-to-date expertise and demonstrates best practices in HR. They approach all work with a view to continuous improvement, ensuring human resources systems in ETF are fair, equitable and transparent.

The Energy Transition Fund is a funder collaborative that was established in 2019 to support regional and global strategies to create the conditions for a just and equitable phase-out of oil and gas production, in line with the Paris Agreement climate limits.

AREAS OF OVERSIGHT
Under the guidance of the COO this role leads recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, risk analysis and compliance related to HR, and participates actively in HR strategy
Acts as a steward of the chosen culture of ETF as outlined in the culture declaration with a view to take actions to ensure alignment with the values outlined
Relationship with PEO and host related to human resource function
Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities outlined below are interpreted as being descriptive in nature and are not an exhaustive list of all possible job responsibilities, tasks, and duties.
Leads, under direction of the COO, HR management within the organisation including onboarding and offboarding and related processes
The HRS liaises with staff fostering strong internal communications and feedback systems and intervenes in support of a strong organisation and culture.
The HRS continuously analyses the organisation with a view to ensure the organisation structure and team composition can fulfil the commitments of the organisation
Works on the continuous improvement of human resource systems understanding that there is always room for growth
Proactively cultivates and maintains relationship with host organisation and contacts at the PEO(s) as well as other key contacts
Leads or acts as the main point of contact for all payroll, benefits, and contracting and human resource policy inquiries
Liaises with staff with a view to support the organisations health, strong systems, and design
Supports payroll and benefit functions including tracking of related activities and finance planning and reporting]
Maintains performance evaluation systems and processes and alters as appropriate
Maintains compensation systems and processes and alters as appropriate
Identifies gaps in knowledge in the team and provides, or connects, training
Ensures hiring processes are followed as written and that related processes and procedures are updated
Supports with the writing of job descriptions and with all recruitment processes
Uses discretion appropriately and respects privacy whilst seeking out internal feedback and ensures feedback is implemented when appropriate
Liaises with the Human Resource Working Group with the view to maintain and activate strong internal systems and protect culture
Supports professional development of staff by approving requests, supporting learning plans, and supporting training for individuals and groups within the organisation
Represents ETF in key discussions and meetings related to human resources
Monitors developments in the organisation to address emerging needs, gaps, and opportunities.
Collaborates effectively with the team to ensure buy in and understanding of the human resource policies and systems
Develops, completes or manages ad hoc projects as directed
Participates in operational planning
Requirements:
PROFILE OF CANDIDATE
Related University degree or equivalent experience
Specialized training in human resources required (e.g. SHRM)
Experience working with an international employer of record
Experience working with international employees and employment management
At least 5 years’ experience in a human resources role with decision making accountabilities
Proven track record in engaging with feedback to inform continuous improvement
A demonstrated ability to build strong human resource systems
Strong work ethic and experience working collaboratively with a team.
Ability to build and implement strong HR policy
Ability to gain support from staff across teams and to train teams
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Agile and able to adapt within a growing and changing organisation

COMPENSATION
Hiring Range of $91,680 – $100,588 USD (dependent on experience) and Comprehensive Benefits Package.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
ETF operates globally. Most team members choose to work from their home, but there are some reimbursements for local office rentals if that is preferred. Work hours are flexible but staff will at times be expected to attend meetings that are outside of normal daytime hours. Some international and regional travel will be required. A computer and other office equipment will be provided.
