The Kapor Foundation provides strategic grants to organizations and initiatives working to build a more responsible and equitable technology ecosystem. Its 2026 grantmaking focuses on Computing Education, Innovation and Governance, with an emphasis on racial equity, responsible technology and expanding inclusive technology pathways.
The Foundation supports work nationally while giving particular priority to initiatives in California, including Oakland, Detroit and Atlanta.
2026 Funding Priorities

The Foundation supports responsible AI technologies, technology initiatives that help close gaps in access and opportunity, and coalitions advancing responsible AI within entrepreneurship and venture capital ecosystems.
Governance
The Foundation supports policy and advocacy work addressing technology regulation, accountability and the effects of AI adoption on marginalized communities.
For 2026, priority advocacy areas include:
Computing education
