Niger has a predominantly young population with a strong potential for talent in various academic and professional fields. However, access for young graduates to structured professional experiences remains limited, particularly in international organizations and professional environments requiring advanced technical, analytical, and operational skills.
As part of the implementation of its mission and its commitment to the rights and development of children and young people , Unicef Niger is setting up the Young Internship Programme to support the employability of young Nigeriens .
The implementation of this program will, on the one hand, identify, train, and support young talent in various areas of intervention, while also meeting the operational needs of the sections. Recent experiences in recruitment and talent management have highlighted the need for UNICEF Niger to develop a pool of young professionals familiar with the organization’s values, procedures, and standards.
Through this program, interns will benefit for six months from a practical and enriching experience through structured supervision, exposure to the workings of an international organization, and the development of professional skills. It will also allow UNICEF Niger to strengthen its commitment to youth inclusion, knowledge transfer, and the development of national human capital.
Main responsibilities, activities and tasks:
Under the direct supervision of the SME Specialist or Head of Section, the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will provide technical and operational support to the entire monitoring, evaluation and data management function of the program.
