Introduction to Our Grant Program
Commonwealth Foundation Grants – Welcome to an exciting opportunity for civil society organisations in the Commonwealth! We are pleased to announce grants of up to £30,000 for projects lasting up to two years. Our goal is to facilitate constructive engagement between civil society and decision-makers, fostering participation in policy development and implementation.
Grant Eligibility and Requirements
Before applying, applicants must check our eligibility criteria, ensuring they are a registered not-for-profit civil society organisation in an eligible Commonwealth Foundation member state. Additionally, organisations must demonstrate a minimum of three years of experience in participatory governance and advocacy. Applications must focus on one of our three priority themes while integrating gender considerations into both project design and implementation.
Key Themes and Areas of Focus
Commonwealth Foundation Grants – Our funding priorities include health justice, freedom of expression, and climate justice. Projects under these themes can significantly impact civil society’s ability to engage with government officials, particularly in areas such as universal health coverage and promoting equitable access to health services. We encourage applicants to explore these vital areas as they design their projects.
