If you have a social enterprise and are seeking funding, you can apply to the foundation year-round. The application process is the first step in getting to know you and your organization, allowing us to assess your fit for our portfolio. To begin the application, you will need to complete an online form, which typically takes around 30-60 minutes. If you need to save your progress and resume later, simply check the box at the top of the form to save your information. In addition to the online application, please upload a written executive summary, pitch deck, or business plan document. While additional materials such as financials are welcome, they are not mandatory. The application should address several key topics.
Firstly, succinctly describe your organization’s mission and objectives. Then, explain the social problem your organization aims to address and the unique solution it provides. Next, highlight how your organization improves on existing efforts, mentioning specific organizations working on the same problem if possible. Emphasize the systemic and unique nature of your approach.
Additionally, describe the tangible results your organization has achieved to date and outline how you plan to measure organizational outcomes and success in the future. Furthermore, explain your plans to scale the organization over time and detail the main sources of income you will use to sustain your work.
Lastly, attach a standard resume or CV for the entrepreneur(s) leading the organization. The Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation funds organizations focused on critical social or environmental issues. We prioritize founders who have the intention to significantly expand their impact over time.
