Deadlines 14 March 2024 – The WWF Nedbank Green Trust is dedicated to funding projects that make a catalytic contribution to environmental conservation. To ensure that your project is considered for funding, it is crucial to adhere to the funding guidelines set out by the trust.
Before applying for funding, please read the Funding Guidelines document carefully. Projects that do not align with the strategic outcomes of the WWF Nedbank Green Trust, as outlined in the guidelines, will not be considered for funding. You can download the PDF document from our website.
To apply for funding, all applicants must complete the online application form available on our website. Please note that only fully completed applications submitted through the website will be considered. No other form of communication or application will be accepted.
The WWF Nedbank Green Trust processes applications three times a year. The submission deadlines for applications are as follows: 14th March 2024, 16th July 2024, and 4th December 2024.
Approved projects are funded for a maximum of three years, with the possibility of extension under exceptional circumstances. Applicants must provide a viable sustainability plan in such cases.
When considering project proposals, the WWF Nedbank Green Trust looks for projects that are catalytic and have the potential to be scaled up to a national level. The projects should contribute to achieving identified environmental outcomes and have a value proposition that is supported by stakeholders. Additionally, the projects should be valuable, unique, innovative, and transferable. Letters of support from the receiving environment or proposed beneficiaries are encouraged.
It is important to clearly demonstrate in your proposal how your project will bring about the desired change. Outline the assumptions and facts upon which your project is based and explain how these, along with your proposed solution, will lead to catalytic change.
Please note that the WWF Nedbank Green Trust does not fund conduit organizations, ex-situ conservation activities with limited implications for wild populations, purely academic research unrelated to trust projects, core support for organizations, or the development of commercial or private nature reserves.
